Kanye West and Tears For Fears WTF?

The other day I bought the new Kanye West album (Thanks AmazonMP3) and before the play button was pressed I sorted out the files to fit into the system I have made for my 6k+ song collection.

The information for each song passed by and one struck me…the song “Coldest Winter” composed by…Roland Orazbal. What? As soon as the track started playing the whole thing was clear. Kanye’s song was based on “Memories Fade”.

I have long history with Tears for Fears, and have been the butt of a few jokes because of it. Listened to them growing up about 10 years after everyone else did. Another example of their work seeing a lot of success even today. Check out the Kanye version and their version below.

I got such a kick out of this video. You have to understand my past. Growing up I was a huge Tears For Fears fan. This was the first concert I ever went to. I remember getting “Songs From The Big Chair” on tape from a friend’s house and listening to every note of “Elemental” for what I am sure was a crazy amount of time.

This is the second parody in the “Literal Music Videos” series. The other one is “Take On Me” which is a bit funnier.
