Chiefs Sales Guy: “Long list of people who will Buy As Soon As Herm And Carl Are No Longer Here.”

// December 5th, 2008 // No Comments » // Thoughts

A message board community for Chiefs fans had a great thread showing a conversation between someone working in sales at the Chiefs (poor guy) and a potential ticket buyer.

The Chiefs fan got an e-mail talking about how there were still tickets left for the two remaining home games this year and that this was a good time to reserve season tickets for next year. He replied that he should be put down for tickets when Herm and Carl are fired…the sales person said verbatim “I have a long list of people who will buy as soon as Herm and Carl are no longer here.”

This is where we are right now with the Chiefs. Pretty amazing. Source info via Chiefs Planet. Feel free to check out the actual e-mail conversation (with the names changed to protect the innocent) after the jump.

Want To Play Safety For The Chiefs? Can You Dance?

// April 30th, 2008 // 1 Comment » // Thoughts

There seems to be something in the water if you are a safety for the Kansas City Chiefs. It started last year on HBO’s show “Hard Knocks” getting a clip of Benard Pollard dancing while players were goofing around in the locker room. Then last week the Chiefs drafted S DaJuan Morgan out of NC State in the 3d round. After running across a post game clip of him on YouTube it seems as though he will carry on the new tradition that is forming at Arrowhead. Jarad Page and Greg Wesley need to get to work. Thanks to Clayton for the video editing.

Kansas City Chiefs 2008 Schedule Released

// April 16th, 2008 // No Comments » // Thoughts

I am a little late to the party getting this info out there. (Via KCChiefs.com)

09/07/08 at New England Patriots
09/14/08 Oakland Raiders
09/21/08 at Atlanta Falcons
09/28/08 Denver Broncos
10/05/08 at Carolina Panthers
10/12/08 Bye
10/19/08 Tennessee Titans
10/26/08 at New York Jets
11/02/08 Tampa Bay Buccaneers
11/09/08 at San Diego Chargers
11/16/08 New Orleans Saints
11/23/08 Buffalo Bills
11/30/08 at Oakland Raiders
12/07/08 at Denver Broncos
12/14/08 San Diego Chargers
12/21/08 Miami Dolphins
12/28/08 at Cincinnati Bengals

If you are looking for one of those little symbols that denotes a “national TV game” you won’t find any because the Chiefs won’t have a single one this year unless they are “flexed” into it. Even with the potential problems the Chiefs will have this year the ‘08 schedule is pretty easy. We have a buzzsaw starting off against the Patriots at their house but @Falcons @Jets @Bengals? Not too bad. I don’t think there are a weaker 3 divisions you could be matched up with. Our own in the AFC West is looking shaky, our AFC match up in the AFC East and the NFC South don’t really scare me that much.

Hilarious highlight video of Kansas City Chiefs defensive end Jared Allen set to the theme from Blazing Saddles. The first 3 seconds alone make the whole clip worth it. Can’t wait for football season.

Tony DiPardo Hospitalized

KANSAS CITY, MO. — Long-time Chief’s band leader Tony Dipardo is hospitalized. His family is asking for prayers.

The family said Dipardo is in serious condition and was hospitalized last Friday.

Dipardo has been a part of the “TD Pack Band” since the Chiefs arrived in 1963 and led the band for 20 years before his daughter Patti took over in 1983. But, the 95-year-old remains a fixture on the sidelines with his signature trumpet.

As the story says Tony has been a part of the Chiefs since the beginning. That sound has always been there. Before that big 3rd down, during timeouts, at halftime. A chilly Sunday at Arrowhead meant football, the smell of great food, and that unique sound. All of those touchdowns at his end of the endzone waiving his arms in the air with that trumpet in one hand.

“The Music Man” made Kansas City a better place.

Here are a few good Tony reads.
