This Feels Good

// April 7th, 2009 // No Comments » // Photo News

Ya know this may seem like an ego driven type of deal and I don’t want it to come off like that. But when things I work really hard on seem to really touch people. It is very gratifying. The whole situation was a blast…you can check out more about it here.

These are a few comments left on Chris and Megan’s Facebook profiles after seeing the shots.

Carly + Brian

I don’t have time to put together some sweet flash sideshow action so I am just going to post a few of the better shots of Brian and Carly’s portrait session. These two were lots of fun, it was hard for everyone to keep a straight face during the course of the day.

I really appreciate their trust and flexibility. A lot of shots that seem fantastic can be a little strange to make happen in person.

Halloween In Kansas City’s P+L District

// November 1st, 2008 // 5 Comments » // Photo News, Thoughts

Quite a night of shooting in Kansas City this evening…all kinds of “interesting” costumes out there. Fun had by all. The first few pictures are there to paint the picture of just how jampacked P+L was. Pretty amazing.

Enjoy the photos…

Portrait Session: Katherine

// October 24th, 2008 // 2 Comments » // Photo News, Thoughts

I had so much fun this week meeting Katherine. My cousin Amy, who I haven’t seen for a few years brought her daughter who I got to meet for the first time. Along with her Aunt Judy we went to Antioch Park and did pictures. I love the way the photos turned out but definitely learned some lessons about shooting kids in the process. She was shy for most of the time but finally warmed up to me when we were wrapping the day up. I think spending some time with a kid before hand and getting some kind of trust and rapport will make my life a lot easier. She is really smiley and fun to be around, she is also naturally curious which made for some great shots.

Thanks for the fun day ladies!

John McCain Visits Kansas City By Way Of Belton

// October 20th, 2008 // 5 Comments » // Photo News, Thoughts

No matter what my political affiliation may be I had to jump at the chance to cover this high profile event. Political events bring together some of the most interesting visuals and wide ranging groups of people. McCain had a great energy, I couldn’t help but have a lot of respect for the guy keeping up the schedule and high pressure situation he does at his age. It really is amazing. Feel free to read up on the event (Via KCStar’s Prime Buzz) and remember high resolution photos are available for licensing. Contact zach [at] zcphotography [dot] com for any inquiries.

Really excited to join up with a photography specific organization. The wealth of benefits and resources this opens the door to couldn’t be passed up. Looking forward to setting aside money to insure my equipment. My biggest nightmare is something happen to this camera so I need to take the steps to protect it. I am just starting to dig into a lot of educational resources as well. You can never learn too much!

High School Football Game Photos

// September 26th, 2008 // No Comments » // Photo News, Thoughts

Got a fun assignment a few weeks ago covering my old high school football team for the Green Summit Dispatch. I have been removed for a while from that world, it was a rush watching all the things that happen under the Friday night lights. The game itself was about as an exciting one as I have seen with Blue Springs coming back in the 4th quarter to make what is usually a tie game a win with a fake extra point that turned into a 2 pt conversion.

The Heart of Kansas City Government

I took some time out to catch some of the buildings where the Kansas City machine for better or worse does its work every day.
