Windows has been frustrating. With all the stuff I do on this computer it was just getting too maddening dancing with Windows dragging along trying to do the small things. Ubuntu has done a lot of good things since I first checked it out. I believe I am set with Linux. At least a form of it.
The installation was incredibly simple with Wubi. Wubi installs Ubuntu 8.04 like a normal Windows program even giving you the ability to remove it like you would any Windows app. You just set aside some space and then when you computer restarts you get the the option of starting or Ubuntu or Windows, that easy. Really safe with all the current information on my computer that I don’t want to mess with screwing around separating out drives for the two OSs. I still have access to any of the files stored on the hard drive.
Everything is free, customizable, and easy to work with. Multi-tasking is so much easier. The only thing I need to switch back to Windows for is the use of Lightroom which is a big deal. Very pleased with Ubuntu. The only bad thing is the dorky names they give to each release. I am now using 8.04 “Herdy Heron” which is an upgrade from the 7.1 “Gutsy Gibbon” release.

Having used Windows/Ubuntu/OSX, OSX wins hands down. But if I had to absolutely stay on linux, Ubuntu would be it.
Shane is right, that software rocks.
