Interesting Tool: Jott
Pretty sure this will be filed under “You are a huge dork” but Jott is a newer service that I have been using and really enjoy.
There are a few ways you can use it. Think of it as voice memos that can be transcribed organized and stored. You sign up for it with your phone number and you use it by calling a toll free number given to you. Once you do that you are prompted asking “who you want to jott” from there you say it is either yourself or a number of contacts you can set up. From there a number of things happen. If I say myself then I continue with my message like “the sign at 43rd and main would be good for pictures”. The service records that audio and then transcribes it for you so you can retrieve it on your own Jott page at a later time. So you have the next and the audio. If you set up your list of contacts I could have said a message that is then sent in the form a text message for someone else.
So you can text or e-mail easily without messing with the buttons.
I use it to remember little things that come to me as I go through my day. A place I see for a photograph, a museum I want to remember, or any idea that pops into my head. There it is for me when I hit my computer organized and everything.

Awesome that you’ve discovered jott! If you know anyone that is an artist of some sort, you gotta recommend this app to them. I, as a guitarist, use it to remember guitar riffs when I’m not at my guitar. And like you said….it is ready for you at home!
