John Stone Passes Away
// April 3rd, 2007 // Thoughts
Got some very sad news today. A fellow Springfield blogger, photographer, and reader died today. John Stone wrote Curbstone Critic. A mix of his blunt political opinions, photos, and musings about this world. He was one of the first 4 people that became the base for the organization the Springfield bloggers.
John had a lot of opinions and he wasn’t shy about letting other people know about them. No matter how crazy others thought some of them were (at times me included) he cared very little what everyone else thought. He always enoucraged me and my photography at a time when I wasn’t sure if taking photos was for me. When I thought I was playing around with a camera he saw good pictures and pushed me to get more serious about it.
I don’t know where ol’ Stone is right now but I hope he is happy. RIP bud.

Sorry to hear this so late, Zach. Thanks for the e-mail.
RIP, John.
Oh wow… that’s sad. He was one of the first SGF Bloggers I ever met. Very funny and smart. I thought he was a little crazy too sometimes, but he was a cool guy in my book.
RIP John.
We’re heading over to Patton Alley tomorrow (Thursday 4/5) to hoist a few in John’s honor. Please join us.
We’ll all miss Mr. Stone.
