Behind every hot girl is a guy that is sick of listening to her bullshit just to have sex with her.

How Stella Splits Her Groove Up

// June 29th, 2005 // No Comments » // Thoughts

Author Terry McMillan has filed for divorce from the man who inspired the 1996 novel (and later a movie) “How Stella Got Her Groove Back,” which chronicled the romantic adventures of a 40-something woman who falls for a guy half her age.

Seems as though they split up because he ended up being gay.

Woops.

In papers filed in Contra Costa County Superior Court, McMillan, 53, says she decided to end her 6 1/2-year marriage to Jonathan Plummer, 30, after learning he is gay.

The revelation led her to conclude Plummer married only to get his U.S. citizenship, she said. McMillan met Plummer at a Jamaican resort a decade ago.

“It was devastating to discover that a relationship I had publicized to the world as life-affirming and built on mutual love was actually based on deceit,” she said in court papers. “I was humiliated.”

In response, Plummer maintained McMillan treated him with “homophobic” scorn bordering on harassment since he came out to her as gay just before Christmas.

McMillan is seeking to have the marriage annulled; Plummer has asked the court to set aside a prenuptial agreement that would prevent him from getting spousal support.

McMillan filed for divorce in January, but news of the split didn’t surface until this week, when it was first reported in a San Francisco Chronicle gossip column. Earlier this month, a judge ordered McMillan to pay Plummer $2,000 a month in spousal support and $25,000 in attorney’s fees until the case comes back to court in October.

McMillan’s latest novel, “The Interruption of Everything,” is scheduled to hit store shelves next month. It plots the mid-life adventures of a married mother of three who is questioning her comfortable suburban life.

McMillan said she did not plan to let a divorce “detract from the many blessings in her life,” according to a statement released through her publicist.

Plummer’s attorney could not immediately be reached for comment.

Fashion Problem

I found myself in a pretty big rush today. Work went long which left me a small amount of time to take a shower and get clothes together for my math class. It was very important that I be at class on time because we were reviewing for a test that is tomorrow. As I walk walking in I noticed that I had a shirt problem. It seems as though my white undershirt was not regulation size for the shirt that was being worn over it. It looked a bit strange. Below is a visual representation of the situation.

There are a lot of things being neglected on good ol’ ZachIsHere. I have a lot of music to add and a lot of things to be done. I believe next week will be the time to make that happen but we shall see!

A Few Laughs…

I am excited for the debut of Comedy Central’s new show “Stella.” It is a sketch comedy show by a group consisting of Michael Ian Black, Michael Showalter, and David Wain. They did a stand up routine that acted as a lead in for the show and it was really good. They all have incredible stage presence and it is interesting how many funny things happen away from the intended focus at any given time. Their act has an old school vaudeville type feel to it especially in the way they move around the stage. I have high hopes for the actual show; from the small preview I have seen I have some reservations of the show’s lasting ability but I think it will be funny and worth watching.

Interesting things happen when communication stops flowing between two people. For whatever reason ties get broken and the vacuum that is created is filled by hearsay or different versions of the truth; as if direct communication does not get botched up enough. Ever play that game when you were a kid where there is a circle of people who whisper in eachothers ears? The original comment goes full circle but has no relation to what was originally said. You can’t change other people or their perceptions in situations like that so to go out of your way to do something of that nature makes you look like a dumbass.

Not my style.

In other happenings my coworker Jason was driving from a job we were doing and the tires went a little nuts on us. They were spinning for what seemed like an eternity; the line left was so long that I couldn’t get a picture of the whole length of the tire mark. Crazy things happen on those long work days.

My weekend ended up being great. Spent a lot of time with the dad and the family in gereral. We went out to eat and just took it easy for a while. I also got to spend a few hours with Megan which was awesome. We seem to inspire each other in a round about way. I am going to kick her ass and get her to start writing more because she is so talented but at the same time she has no idea what good things she does with the pen and paper. Someone needs to wise her up to the good things she can do by shaking her and roughing her up a little bit. Like that part in the movie Airplane.

We went to the Royals game and they really sucked. But alas, this did not stop us from having a good time.

I have been behind with this website. I am making posts on a consistant basis but the other areas have been neglected. I imagine there will be an uber update sometime soon where a whole bunch of things are added on one day.

I am home this weekend and it has been fun as shit. Tonight I am going to the Royals game; hopefully they don’t get their asses kicked.

I ran across this and found it funny… (Via 1010wins.com)

LAWRENCE, Kan. (AP) — More than 100 students who failed their classes at the University of Kansas last semester found out who shared their misfortune. The school’s Office of Student Financial Aid sent an e-mail to 119 students Monday notifying them that they were in jeopardy of having their aid revoked.

But the names of the students were included on the e-mail address list – meaning everyone who got the e-mail could see the names of all the other recipients.

“It was a completely inadvertent, unintentional mistake,” university spokesman Todd Cohen said Thursday. “It was our error, our mistake and we deeply regret it.”

Woops. I bet Bucknell wouldn’t have let that happen at their school.
