My job is amazing because there are times when 5 or 10 minutes can pass without a single thought going through my brain. Not one single cognitive function will pass between my ears. I find this to be scary.
In non wooden news I helped Jessi move into her new place the other day. Her house is awesome and seems like a great place to live. The amount of clothes she had in boxes boggles my mind. Girls are incredible.
Tomorrow I will post some weird things I have run across at various jobs including a cactus that looks like a penis and a statue made in honor of two dorky kids.

My life has been taken over by a new job but it is not in a bad way. I was about to continue the kind of job I had last summer by serving tables at a country club. Somewhere along the way I realized that I don’t hate myself enough to work at a CC again so I pulled a 180 and got an outside type job. I work for a company that restores and preserves wooden things like decks and fences. The hours are pretty long; I am putting in 10 and 11 hour days. There is not one particular thing that is physically exhausting about the job from I am always doing something from start to finish. I really enjoy working outside and my boss and co-workers are great guys. Here are a few pictures from some jobs I have been on. The lighting in a lot of them is not great because it is a camera phone but you get the idea.
Thursday was a great time. I went out with John and Lyndsey (with guest appearences by Amanda, Travis, Amanda, Lacy, Sam, and Wendy) on an adventure that included Springfield Brew Co., Tropical Liquors, Ernie Bigs, Twilight, and Ebbet’s Field. Below you can see pictures of our sushi feast, the Ernie Bigs piano guys, and Lyndsey in what I will call a candid moment.

The Christian Science Monitor did an interesting piece called “Teens: It’s a diary. Adults: It’s unsafe.” You can find the full article here.
They’re not aware how easily something [predatory] can happen over the Internet,” says Shannon’s mother, Margaret, who is a computer-science teacher at Assumption. “They really shouldn’t have these sites. Maybe when they’re older, in college or something, but it’s just not safe before that.”
You know, now that I think about it I believe this parent is right. Self creative expression should be stifled until college. You stupid middle school and high school kids are to young to have any real thoughts. Let college kids deal with all of the emotional stuff; run off and play hop scotch. Seriously though, if someone is smart about the way they deal with information on the internet then it shouldn’t be any problem. Do not give out your personal information so that someone could find you in real life.
Of the world’s approximately 38 million “blogs,” or self-published Web pages, 52.8 percent belong to those age 19 or younger, according to survey data from the Perseus Co., a maker of Web-surveying software. By year’s end, the firm expects the total number of blogs on the Web to reach 53.4 million.
Those numbers are amazing. As Terrance once put on this site jokingly. “This blog thing may catch on one of these days.”
Internet stalkers have killed at least four minors in the past three years,
I hate to belittle the tragic death of anyone but I would say if any of the victims in these cases had taken basic precautions then this would not have happened. And 4 deaths over the span of 3 years?
Given such statistics, parents need to get over the feeling that they’re invading their children’s privacy by reading their blogs, Ms. Aftabsays. She believes that parents must bring their judgment to bear on the content of what’s posted. “When you get hormones pumping, [minors] are operating the heavy machinery of the Internet under impaired judgment.”
Teenagers are horny! Take away their blogs so they won’t want to get on each other anymore! Anything they can do to not think about the fact that the way they actually raise their child will mold the way they deal with situations.

I am spending a lot of time with a new girlie these days. It is a unique deal; we have a great time together. We are both interested in the same things and have very laid back natures. It is nice when you can hang out with someone and not feel like there has to be conversation all the time. Like they say in Pulp Fiction, “a comfortable silence can be a good thing.” One thing that really stands out is how caring she is. That has always been a big deal to me. I like people that are very human and treat others very well. The only this is that we are kind of in a holding pattern. Nothing bad has happened but it seems as though we are both “playing not to lose.” Two people that want to be closer but are holding their cards close to the vest because they have lost a couple hands previously. I am in no rush and neither is she so it is not something I am really worried about; it is just nice to have someone on your team to enjoy summer in Springfield. I get made fun of for using this phrase so much on this site but once again…we shall see how it pans out.

My posting has gone down but don’t worry folks, all is well. I have a new job that I am working about 10 hours a day at. Needless to say that cuts into my computer time. It is going great. I will talk about it and throw some pictures up tomorrow when I have some more time.
There will be a new section added to this ever growing website. My buddy Dirk is quite the movie buff and we have worked out a thing where he will do movie reviews that will be shown here. I think it will be good to have a movies section that goes along with the music one. If anyone knows movies it Dirk so I am excited to see what he brings to the website.
Tomorrow I am going to the doctor because there is something wrong with me eye. It feels like I have poison ivy in my freaking eye and it is driving me nutsos. It isn’t anything severe but it is very annoying. If something crazy happens and I pass away then my will instructs my parents to put all of my friend’s names in a hat and to decide who I shall bestow my dirty underwear upon after death. The winner will be one lucky guy or gal.
More tomorrow…
